Fall Retreat

Mark your calendars for the Young Adult fall retreat on Saturday, October 11 beginning at 9:00 AM and concluding with vigil Mass at 5:30 PM.


Join other young adults as we deepen our faith through the sacraments, reflection, and prayer.

Family Service Day

There are two opportunities work with your child helping to feed hungry neighbors.


Greater Chicago Food Depository from 9:00 AM to 11:45 AM. One adult per child, ages 5-13. We have room for 10 pairs. This will be a tour and time to repack food donated so that it can go out to food pantries around the city, including our own Lakeview Pantry. Sign up here. There is a volunteer dress code.


Lakeview Pantry, on our campus, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. We have room for five pairs of adults and children, ages 5 on up. Unload and repack unsold produce from the Green City Market. Sign up here.



The Way to Becoming Catholic or being Confirmed at St. Alphonsus

Sessions for the Rite of Christian Adults are beginning soon


Every year about 40 to 50 adults celebrate the sacraments of initiation - baptism, Eucharist and confirmation - at St. Alphonsus.


If you are interested, now is the time to talk to us about the right path for you toward full membership in the church.

We are glad to welcome your child into our program. Registrations are still being accepted for classes.

Study the New Testament

Tuesdays at 7:30 PM

The New Testament classes will pick up again with the study of Hebrews, moving through the rest of the New Testament to Revelation.

Join Jim Hawk, as we study the New Testament book-by-book from a distinctly Catholic perspective.

Meetings will be on Tuesdays at 7:30 PM in the Common Room of the rectory.

of the Old Testament

Bible Study resumes on alternate Mondays at 7:00 PM beginning October 6

Jenna Patitucci will lead the discussion about the Prophets. We hear them read on Sundays, but often don't know their context or historical situation.

Learn about these fascinating books in our Scriptures. No prior experience with Bible study is necessary.
