Cardinal George announced on Tuesday, April 15, that Fr. O'Connell has been fully reinstated and has resumed his duties as pastor.

Young Adult Wine Tasting
Friday, May 16


Join St. Al's Young Adult Ministry on Friday, May 16, starting at 6:30 PM for our Annual Wine and Beer Tasting! The event will take place at 404 Wine Bar. (It is connected to Diag on Southport.)

Several wines will be paired with appetizers, and information will be provided about each wine. Come enjoy an evening meeting other young adults over drinks!

Chicago Arts Orchestra
Bach Brothers
May 17 at 8:00 PM


The Chicago Arts Orchestra, recently named Illinois Orchestra of the Year by the Illinois Council of Orchestras, will be our guest, performing 'galant style' symphonies by Haydn and C.P.E. Bach. Pianist Brian Bloye will join the orchestra in a delightful concerto by J.C. Bach.

'Galant' music is known for its charming melodies, bubbly rhythms, and immediate accessibility.

Boy Scout
Spaghetti Dinner

Sunday, May 18


Please support the St. Alphonsus scouting programs by attending their annual dinner on Sunday, May 18. Tickets are $8 and include all-you-can-eat spaghetti and salad bar. They will be serving in the AACA basement from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Come join them for great food, family fun, games, and prizes galore. Don't miss their Famous Canoe Salad Bar!

Holy Land Pilgrimage
Coming in November, 2014


From Friday, November 7 through Sunday, November 16 of 2014, Fr. Shawn Gould will be leading a group of young adults to the Holy Land. We will be spending time in prayer, study, and fellowship at the sites of the major events of our Lord's life in the land of the covenant.


We have decided to open the pilgrimage up
beyond the young adult community to all age groups.

Theology of the Body

Please join Young Adult Ministry as we join to study John Paul II's famous work of the Theology of the Body. After reading individually, we will get together as a group to discuss what we have read each week in order to help one another understand the deep questions that John Paul II poses.
