Commemorate All Souls

November 2

Sunday, November 2, is the Feast of All Souls, when we pray for our deceased loved ones, commending their souls to a merciful God.

At the 5:00 PM mass, the choir of St. Alphonsus will sing movements of requiems by great composers including Durufle, T. L. de Victoria, Faure, Brahms, and Herbert Howells. Experience timeless texts rendered in a variety of musical styles, all directing our prayer toward the eternal rest of our loved ones.

You are invited to bring scanned photos of your loved ones, which we will display in the church. Please come at least ten minutes before mass.

Families with children are invited to make shadow boxes to commemorate loved ones. Please bring them ten minutes before mass for display in the church.

Help Liberian Mission
Cope with Ebola Crisis

You can help support orphans
whose families have been affected

Franciscan Works runs Liberia Mission, which houses and educates children who were orphaned during the civil war. Now, the Archdiocese of Monrovia and Doctors Without Borders are asking them to care for up to 40 orphans whose families have died in the Ebola epidemic.

This large increase in their student population can only be accommodated with your help.

Read to Feed

Help Kids Be Ordinary Heroes

Our Religious Education students are embarked on their third annual Read to Feed project.

The way it works: they pledge to read a certain number of books / pages during October and November. Friends and families pledge a certain amount of money per book / group of pages.

The money is collected for Heifer, which provides pairs of breeding animals to help ensure sustainable agriculture for families in over one hundred countries.

How can you help? Go to GiveCentral and help our kids be heroes by making your own donation!
